Camp Diary
Diary of a 6 year old
Hide and Seek Day Camp
8:45 – 9:00 Parent Drop off
When I got out of mom’s car I ran to see my favorite counselor! She helped me find some sidewalk chalk and we drew some of the things we talked about yesterday.
9:00- 9:30 Opening Assembly
I went inside with all of the other kids into a big assembly room. There were a couple of counselors teaching us a new silly song. I got to sit with my new friends! We all said a verse from the Bible that we learned during arts and crafts yesterday, and then we took our bags to our group’s area.
9:30-10:30 Field Games
Today the first place we went was field games. Our counselor has been telling us about how God’s children all work together like a body. We played a game where we all had to work together to sit in a circle at the same time. It was really hard but we finally did it! Tomorrow they are going to bring in an inflatable obstacle course! I can’t wait.
10:30-11:30 Ropes Course
On our way to the ropes course area we passed some tree limbs that had fallen. Our whole group started working on building a cool fort. I hope we get to work on it more tomorrow! Then we went to a rope swing. Our counselor told us a Bible verse that we practiced about being one body. We had to all work together again to make the activity work.
11:30-12:00 Lunch
We went inside to get our lunch boxes and cool down. Boy, it was hot today and I was really hungry.
12:00-1:00 Arts and Crafts
My arts and crafts leader had all of the kids in the group lay down on a huge piece of paper one at a time. She traced a different part of each one of us except for the head. She told us that we make up the body but only Jesus can make up the head. Then we got to color it with different kinds of pudding!! Yummy.
1:00-2:00 Playground
We went and played on the playground behind the church. It’s awesome, with so many swings and slides. We played chase too. The older kids had a water fight instead, but we like the playground.
2:00-2:40 Re-cap and SNACK time
We had the best surprise for snack time today! The ice cream truck came and we got to pick an ice cream! Once we finished our ice cream we started heading back to the assembly room. Our counselor taught us a new song today and we sang it as loud as we could until we went inside.
2:40-3:00 Closing assembly
All the kids went and got their things and sat with the groups in the closing assembly. We played a game, even with the big kids. Then we had a few more announcements about tomorrow. On Friday my Mom and Dad get to come. Our group has the best skit to show them! I can’t wait to see my counselor again tomorrow.
3:00 - Pick Up
Mom’s here to get me. Today went by so fast. Tomorrow should be fun too. Mom asked me if I had a good day and if I was tired again. Yesterday I feel asleep in the car.
Mission
Beliefs:
We believe the Bible is the Word of God; in its divine verbal, plenary inspiration; and in its inerrancy and infallibility in the original languages; and in its supreme and final authority in faith and life (2Tim.3:16; 2Pet.1:20-21).
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deut.6:4, Matt 28:19; 1Cor13:14).
3. We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ:
1. His essential, absolute and eternal deity (Phil.2:6; John1:4, 14; Heb.1:8)
2. His true and sinless humanity (1Pet 2:22; 1John3:5)
3. His virgin birth (Isa.7:14; Matt.1:20)
4. His substitutionary, propitiatory death (Matt 20:28; Mark 1:45; 1Tim2:6)
5. His bodily resurrection (John 20:19,20)
6. His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19; Luke 24:51)
7. His personal, visible, and bodily coming again with power and great glory
(Titus2:13;John 14:2,3; Rev 19:11-16)
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who shows the redeeming purpose of God to the world by convicting the world of sin, of righteousness and judgment (John 16:7-11), and regenerating (Titus 3:5), uniting to Christ (1Cor12:13), indwelling (Eph1:13;5:18), sanctifying (Gal.5:16; 1Cor.6:11), illuminating (John16:13) and empowering for service (1Cor12:4-11), all who place complete faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Gal.5:5).
5. We believe in the total depravity of man because of the fall (Gen. 3:10-24).
6. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ apart from works
(Eph 2:8).
We believe in the everlasting bliss of the saved and the eternal suffering of the lost (Dan. 12:2; Luke 16:24-26; John 5:28; Rev 20:14).
We believe in the real spiritual unity in Christ of all redeemed by His precious blood [through the imputation of His righteousness] (1Cor12:13; Eph.1:4-6; 4:11-15; 5:25,26).
We believe in the necessity of maintaining, according to the Word of God, the purity of the church in doctrine and life (1Cor 6:19,20; 1Thess. 4:3).
